Canada's Initial Public Offering (IPO) market is red-hot right now. It?s a great time for private companies who are thinking about going public to raise money. Becoming a public company is frequently regarded as a positive step toward international expansion, acquisitions, mergers, raising capital, and conducting a U.S. IPO

Many players including banks, legal counsel, and regulatory bodies, must collaborate for successful IPOs. Conducting due diligence and filing regulatory documents are part of the overall process.

With a thriving IPO market, translation of the documents listed below has to be fast, reliable, and managed by experienced partners.

Key documents include:

  • Prospectos de emisión
  • Letters of intent
  • Underwriting agreements
  • Red herring documents
  • Engagement letters
  • Otros documentos necesarios

4 points to consider while short-listing translation partners:

  • Continuity: It is critical to collaborate with industry experts to ensure that the documents are translated correctly, consistently, and without ambiguity.
  • Time-Bound: When it comes to filing these documents, time is of the essence, and all work must be completed on time to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Expertise: The translation partner should be well-versed in the most recent legal terminology and the regulatory language.
  • Innovation: The partner should be adaptable enough to provide a mix of expert linguists and artificial intelligence.

BILL 96 WEBINAR (PART 1) - IN CASE YOU MISSED ITBILL 96 WEBINAR (PART 1) - IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

If you're operating in Quebec, you’ll by now be familiar with Bill 96, the Quebec government’s proposed law that is expected to take effect this summer. The bill will update the Charter of French Language, otherwise known as Bill 101, ensuring that nearly all business contracts, human resources activities, public services, marketing, and just about anything else will be available in French.

The highly contentious bill has generated applause by some, and protests by others. Whatever your opinion of the new law, you must be prepared to take action before Bill 96 takes effect.

To help explain the impact of Bill 96, we recently assembled a panel of experts including Keyvan Nassiry (Nassiry Law), André de Maurivez (CIBC), Tania Da Silva (DLA Piper), and Gary Kalaci (Alexa Translations). Our panel discussed the general impact of the bill, provided recommendations for all businesses operating in Quebec, and explored the nuances of human resources and contractual law under Bill 96.
