Gary Kalaci, CEO of Alexa Translations, knows the hard work and dedication required in order to complete one's law degree. As an MBA/JD graduate at the University of Windsor (2009), Gary sought out to maintain ties with his alma mater – the very establishment that equipped him with the tools necessary to become a renowned lawyer, and head of one of Canada's leading translation companies.

Having first partnered with the University of Windsor in 2021, Alexa Translations is proud to offer their unique scholarship, 'The Alexa Translations Scholarship in Law', for the second year. The scholarship is intended to assist individual students in dedicating more time to their academic study and social endeavours by easing financial challenges.

For the 2022-2023 school year, Alexa Translations would like to congratulate Thurka Brabaharan, a second-year law student at the University of Windsor. We believe that Thurka strongly displays many of the values that Alexa Translations is founded on, such as her dedication to her legal studies and her commitment to being an inspiration to all those around her.

As a proud partner of the University of Windsor, Alexa Translations looks forward to supporting the future legal experts of our great country!

BILL 96 WEBINAR (PART 1) - IN CASE YOU MISSED ITBILL 96 WEBINAR (PART 1) - IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

If you're operating in Quebec, you’ll by now be familiar with Bill 96, the Quebec government’s proposed law that is expected to take effect this summer. The bill will update the Charter of French Language, otherwise known as Bill 101, ensuring that nearly all business contracts, human resources activities, public services, marketing, and just about anything else will be available in French.

The highly contentious bill has generated applause by some, and protests by others. Whatever your opinion of the new law, you must be prepared to take action before Bill 96 takes effect.

To help explain the impact of Bill 96, we recently assembled a panel of experts including Keyvan Nassiry (Nassiry Law), André de Maurivez (CIBC), Tania Da Silva (DLA Piper), and Gary Kalaci (Alexa Translations). Our panel discussed the general impact of the bill, provided recommendations for all businesses operating in Quebec, and explored the nuances of human resources and contractual law under Bill 96.
