Building a Strong Foundation: Practical Experience in Law School<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nicole's success is not solely attributed to academic achievement\u2014she emphasizes the importance of gaining practical skills and experience during law school. Her involvement in various activities, from mock trials to legal aid clinics, provided valuable hands-on experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"In my first year of law school, I was able to work in the summertime at the Legal Assistance of Windsor, and that's kind of a legal aid clinic. So dealing with a lot of the same issues, specifically indigenous gender-based violence,\" Nicole recounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also gained corporate experience working in the ESG department at TD Insurance. \"At TD, I was working in the ESG department. So that was really just trying to figure out how TD stakeholders and shareholders could really contribute to ESG. And that gave me a lot of transferable skills as I moved towards my second year.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n
