System-Business Analyst

Job Description

Alexa Translations provides translation services in the legal, financial, and securities sectors by leveraging proprietary A.I. technology and a team of highly specialized linguistic experts. We are looking for an experienced Bilingual Business/System Analyst to help with supporting our clients and prospects.  You will work with our business development and engineering teams to respond to client requests, conduct demos, and assist during the sales cycle.  You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Translation and collaborate with our developers and support engineers on multiple levels.

Objectives of this Role

  • Review and respond to client requests
  • Liaise with business users to formulate new system requirements and assess enhancement requests to fulfil ongoing business needs
  • Provide support and coverage to change management to ease stakeholders to understand and adopt new systems and processes 
  • Enhance our product and service knowledge base
  • Help clients to identify and report issues
  • Provide support to the business development team during the sales cycle

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze business requirements 
  • Conduct high-level system function design 
  • Manage system scope and user expectations 
  • Coordinate user acceptance test 
  • Prepare system user guides and communication material

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Programming, Mathematics/Analytics or related field or equivalent experience.
  • English and French language skills
  • Minimum two years as Business / System Analysis / customer service Technical support
  • An understanding of HTML and XML technologies.
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL, SQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, ODBC
  • Understanding of cross-browser development using core web development tools and technologies (such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSON).
  • Excellent skills with Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications

  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, must be able to listen and understand the requirements and develop and deliver clear insights

Software Engineer

Objectives of this Role

  • Grow existing platform and network capabilities to handle massive growth, enabling the generation of insights and data products on all internal and external data via self-serve computing, reporting solutions, and interactive querying
  • Visualize, design, and develop creative and innovative software platforms, as we continue to experience dramatic growth in the usage and visibility of our products
  • Create scalable software platforms and applications, and efficient networking solutions that are unit tested, code reviewed and checked regularly for continuous integration
  • Examine existing systems, identifying flaws and creating solutions to improve service uptime and time-to-resolve through monitoring and automated remediation
  • Plan and execute full software development life cycles (SDLC) for each assigned project, adhering to company standards and expectations

Responsibilities

  • Design and build tools and frameworks to automate development, testing deployment, management and monitoring of the company’s 24×7 services and products
  • Plan and scale distributed software and applications, applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, write code and deliver with urgency and quality
  • Collaborate with IT teams and other business units, producing project work plans and analyzing the efficiency and feasibility of project operations, while leveraging global technology stack and making localized improvements
  • Track, document, and maintain software and network system functionality—both internally and externally, leveraging opportunities to improve engineering productivity
  • Give a high level of attention to creating software and networking platforms free of faulty programming, keeping developers in step continuously without compromising site reliability
  • Work with product managers and user experience designers to influence the strategy for the next wave of product features and system capabilities, identifying the best way to deliver capabilities

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years’ experience engineering software (full stack) and networking platforms
  • Proven ability to document design processes, including development, tests, analytics, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with rapid development cycles in a web-based environment
  • Strong scripting and test automation abilities

Software Quality Engineer

Objectives of this Role

  • Grow existing platform and network capabilities to handle massive growth, enabling the generation of insights and data products on all internal and external data via self-serve computing, reporting solutions, and interactive querying
  • Examine existing systems, identifying flaws and creating solutions to improve service uptime and time-to-resolve through monitoring and automated remediation
  • Plan and execute full software development life cycles (SDLC) for each assigned project, adhering to company standards and expectations
  • Develop, execute and maintain software and scripts to automate testing for all Alexa Translations applications. 
  • Serve as a customer advocate through helping to define product functionality and by taking ownership of product quality. 
  • Create test tools and automated test suites that are robust, performant and reusable, allowing our Agile teams to deliver high-quality releases more efficiently. 
  • Collaborate with QA, dev, product and other cross-functional groups to deliver high-quality products

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with SCRUM teams from the start of a sprint to deliver best-in-class technical solutions
  • Create, optimize, and refactor automated test scripts for legacy, client-server and web applications
  • Monitor automation processes and prepare defect status reports
  • Develop automated tests using Selenium, Webdriver, nUnit, SQL, C# and other scripts
  • Write automation and perform Web, API, UI, functional, regression, smoke, black box, load, performance and end-to-end testing
  • Write and/or modify SQL queries to perform database validations
  • Work with functional teams in reducing error rates and perform root cause analysis of errors/trends
  • Partner with automation engineers to create a unified approach to automation across the team.
  • Architect maintainable and extendable automated test frameworks and tools using scripting language(s) to test various product APIs as well as GUI elements.
  • Troubleshoot defects in existing code.
  • Work with support, stakeholders and developers to aid in replication of software defects.
  • Automate testing of defects and assist with the maintenance of Regression Test suite.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) plus year’s software QA testing experience.
  • Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Programming, Mathematics/Analytics or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years in Software QA Automation experience.
  • 2-3 years of direct experience in Software Automation (Selenium)
  • ASP.Net web development skills (MVC, C#).
  • An understanding of HTML and XML technologies.
  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL, SQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, ODBC
  • Experience using Microsoft supporting technologies such as Visual Studio and CodeUI.

Client Success Specialist

Location: Montreal

Position Summary

The Client Success Specialist is responsible for developing strong relationships with customers and the management and growth of existing business. Alexa Translations partnerships are typically long term in nature and the decision makers within prospective client organizations range from C-level executives to department managers and procurement individuals. Managing the existing client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and retention will be the main focus.

Principle Responsibilities And Duties

  • Develop long-term partnerships with designated customers to ensure they become and remain successful throughout the sales process, including successful onboarding of new clients.
  • First point of contact for designated clients through phone and email, responsible for day-to-day activities relating to new quote requests and ongoing projects
  • Review inbound quote requests and contact clients to gain a better understanding of project scope and gather any missing information
  • Liaise with internal and external departments as required to deliver accurate quotes to the client.
  • Quote follow up to increase win rates and proactively address any objections.
  • Proactively identify, engage and nurture client relationships to keep retention rates high including conducting client satisfaction calls and outreach to inactive accounts.
  • Documentation of all client communications in our Client Relationship Management (CRM) system Hubspot, including assigning tasks and taking action on assigned tasks.
  • Maintaining a high level of client satisfaction by advising on product/service best practices, providing product adoption and release guidance while serving as a liaison between the customers and Alexa’s internal operations and external sales team.
  • Identify product expansion, up-sell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts assigned to you.
  • Work with Account Executives to develop strategic account plans and execute tactical actions to support account growth.
  • Be the “voice of the customer” and communicate feedback to internal stakeholders
  • Identify potential superfans for customer success stories, testimonials, referrals, etc.
  • Keep track of sales performance metrics through the use of Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools and other systems.

Education

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College diploma, university degree or equivalent
  • Bilingual (English/French) mandatory requirement

Experience And Proficiencies

  • 3+ years of experience in Client Service, Account Management, Business Development or another client-facing role
  • Technical, communications or SaaS industry experience
  • Experience dealing with middle managers and senior managers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google Suite (Gmail, G-drive)
  • Working knowledge and proficiency using CRM software (Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.)

Skills And Abilities

  • Very strong work ethics and interpersonal skills essential to develop trusted relationships.
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines, managing changing priorities, and working under pressure.
  • Organized, analytical, and methodical with strong attention to detail.
  • Process-driven to ensure that sales cycle is optimized and client retention is maximized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French

Professional Environment

  • Alexa Translations is a rapidly growing, highly entrepreneurial translation services company. The successful candidate will have access to an office at our current Toronto or Montreal locations and tools that will allow you to work from home when required (laptop, phone, G-suite).

Hours of Work

  • Alexa Translations hours of operation are 9:00 am – 5:30 pm Monday to Friday. The Client Success Specialist will require additional hours of operation and flexibility to be successful in this role.
